North Nowra Cambewarra Cricket Club U11 teams enjoyed a good old-fashion local derby match between the Maroons and Blues over the weekend. The glorious club colours of maroon and white could be seen as far as the eye could see, with neither team willing to wear an away strip, such is the love of the NNCCC strip.
I’ve been informed this report needs to be short. Back to the important facts. The Blues prevailed 183 to 64 if you can believe the final score card. Pocket rocket Toby Huard was truly astonishing with his 3 overs, taking 4 wickets for 6 runs with an awesome display of speed and accuracy. Even the coach could hardly believe his eyes. Jack “Mr Cricket” Walsh and Turbo Troy Sweet also terrorized their good friends on the Maroon team with great bowling.
In the batting stakes, the Blues did very well. Heaps of runs from every player on the team. I could list all the players, but I’m told to keep this brief short. Real short! So let’s just say that everyone batted extremely well.
Also, our sponsors, McDonalds. Thank you for your support. The Sweet boys thought that it would be great idea for lunch after such a hot match. A Frozen coke to quench a big cold thirst after a tough day on the field, but mum had lunch prepared for them at home. Liver and cabbage. Hold that thought until after the next game, boys!
